Scan, inspect and report – all on the scanner

The FreeScan Omni is the first wireless metrology platform that works entirely on its own. Computing unit, display and two light sources sit inside the device, so scanning, meshing and inspection reports happen without a connected computer. Take the scanner to the part and finish the job right there.

Inspection at the push of a button

The built-in SHINING3D Inspect module is PTB-certified and runs directly on the device. With prepared templates an inspection starts with a single click and deviations appear in colour on the display. Even staff without metrology training deliver consistent, reliable results.

Reports without detours

The finished inspection report can be reviewed on the scanner and exported in several formats to a USB drive or a PC. Scan data is available as .stl, .asc, .3mf and .p3, so handing results into your own process chain needs no intermediate step.

Key figures

All values come from the FreeScan Omni series data sheet. Accuracy is confirmed in SHINING 3D's ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab according to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 and ISO 10360.

Accuracy: 0,02 mm
Volumetric accuracy with VPG: 0,02 + 0,015 mm/m
Scan speed up to: 7.619.000 Pkt./s
Resolution: 0,01–10 mm
Depth of field (170–1000 mm): 830 mm
Max. field of view (IR): 1205 × 1104 mm

Four scan modes for every geometry

93 laser lines cover large areas fast, 25 parallel lines bring out fine detail, and a single line reaches into deep pockets and bores. The IR mode scans quickly and entirely without markers, so the right mode for each part is a matter of seconds.

Work wireless, without a break

Power and data cables disappear completely. Battery packs can be swapped during operation so a measuring series never stops. The Smart Dock charges the device quickly and sets up the Wi-Fi connection automatically when docked; a wired fibre-optic connection is available too.

VPG and AI feature recognition

The patented video photogrammetry keeps volumetric accuracy stable even on large parts, without coded markers and with far less preparation. AI-supported boundary detection measures round holes, slots and rectangular holes cleanly and quickly.

Two 5 MP cameras and serious computing power

Two industrial 5 MP cameras capture fine structures sharply enough for measurement and analysis. Behind them an edge computing module with FPGA, 32 GB memory and a 1 TB SSD keeps scanning and processing in one single pass.

A platform that grows with you

The FreeScan Omni is the full configuration with on-device inspection, VPG, AI feature recognition and the Inspect module for PC. The FreeScan Omni Lite uses the same hardware base with certified accuracy and all scan modes and can be extended with exactly those modules later. The investment grows step by step with your requirements.
